CULPEPPER’S DISH

An old DFG favourite and an interesting geological feature nearby.

From Bournemouth/Poole direction, take the A35 towards Bere Regis. At the roundabout on the edge of Bere Regis take the first exit into the village. Bear left almost immediately at the Royal Oak pub in the direction of Wool, then crossing the river (with watercress beds to the left), continue for about a mile towards Rye Hill. Right on the summit of Rye Hill fork to the right signposted to Brianstpuddle. Continue along this road for approx 2 miles, crossing another stream on a narrow bridge, until passing a 3-way junction and then a slight incline.

Culpepper’s Dish is just past this junction/incline to the right (although well hidden by trees). The meeting point is the large car park directly opposite, on your left.
